SUMMER CAMPS
Spend the summer in the studios and museum at the Des Moines Art Center. Explore a variety of artmaking skills and creative activities. Our week-long summer camps cover a broad range of topics – create an explosion as you learn about the intersection of art and science; design your own artistic universe in Earth, Wind, and Fire; and learn about your favorite animal friends in Animal Party. Additional child care options are available for purchase, hours and pricing are listed below.
WRITE + CREATE + ILLUSTRATE
Tell your story – create and illustrate your own book! Write a story then learn the skills needed to illustrate and develop your storyline and characters. Explore how your narratives inspire the images and characters of your book. Students will learn how to use a variety of tools and techniques to create unique illustrations.
Ages 9–11 / 9 am–noon
Tuition: $140 ($112 for members*) / Material fee $15
Location: Hubbell Studio 2
