INTERSECTIONALITY & ART
Join the Des Moines Art Center for our virtual Art and Activism class series to learn about intersectionality and art. Study the theory of intersectionality by uncovering how our different social identities intertwine to create our personal identities and experiences. Gain awareness about how art enhances individuals and society in this eight-week, artist-led series. Connect with other teens to celebrate, share, create, and discuss how to use art to make a statement. Participate in discussions on race, class, sexual orientation, and gender with a variety of community activists and teaching artists. Each student will be provided with a material kit and sketchbook to participate in the series.
Tuesdays and Thursdays / 4 – 6pm (8 weeks)

Tuition $5 ($4 for members*)
